I Love Gin is a subscription box for…yes you’ve guessed it, gin lovers! This monthly box features a specially chosen and themed selection of artisan gins and premium tonics/mixers. I think it’s brilliant value for money as there’s enough included to make up to four G&Ts and it’s a fun way to discover something new.
May’s box is themed The Boozy Brunch Box so let’s check out what’s inside:-
D1 London Dry Gin (50ml, 40% vol)
D1 in Mandarin translates to ‘second to none’ and this proved to be the concept that its founder wanted to work towards when Dominic Limbrey created the brand’s signature London Dry Gin. He wanted a gin that was as smooth as possible and made without any artificial sweeteners or flavours, and I think he’s achieved a masterful result! Distilled in small batches in traditional copper pots, Dominic worked with a Master Tea Blender to combine Juniper Berries with a range of bespoke botanicals such as Coriander, Orange, Lemon Peel, Angelica Root, Cassia Bark, Almond and Liquorice. A touch of specially selected Nettles was added for the final kick and thus D1 London Dry Gin was born which has gone on to win multiple awards.
Slingsby Marmalade Gin (50ml, 40% vol)
I love the bright orange colour of this bottle – it’s literally like bottled sunshine! After the successful launch of Slingsby London Dry Gin back in 2015, the team began to experiment with a variety of fruity flavours, all of which began their life as exclusive limited editions that were sold at their flagship store. Fast forward a couple of years and Slingsby now sells an exciting range of six award-winning spirits, including this delightful Marmalade Gin. Crafted using Harrogate aquifer water, pure single grain spirit and locally sourced botanicals like Primrose, Sweet Cicily, Nettle, Milk Thistle and Rosehip, this gin also includes a touch of zesty Yorkshire Marmalade for a sweet and tangy flavour.
To compliment your gins this month, there are two premium bottles to try from the hugely popular Fever-Tree. The Mediterranean Tonic Water is a light and zesty mix of Rosemary and Lemon Thyme, whilst the Indian Tonic Water has been chosen from the brand’s Refreshingly Light range which contains 46% fewer calories but still retains all of its classic flavour.
