Boxcitement – August 2020: Just your type

I was interested to see how the team at Boxcitement would handle the August box. Having managed to cover summer already and coronavirus pick me ups too I wondered what would await me this month. I wasn’t disappointed and absolutely loved the typography theme.

What is in the box?

  • A cotton pouch for on the go essentials
  • Set of 4 typographic art prints
  • A sun block stick for on the go top ups
  • Statement necklace in bold colours
  • Set of cute sticky notes
  • A tiny trinket bowl
  • Pocket mirror and set of mints to stay fresh on the go.

Make a statement

I adore this necklace. In fact I find that Boxcitement rarely get it wrong when it comes to jewellery. If you were buying this on it’s own you’d pay around £8-£10 so its almost half the price of the box alone. I can’t wait to wear it.

Prints charming

Sometimes the prints that you occasionally get in Boxcitement boxes are a bit hit and miss for me but I absolutely love these. They are really good quality and I love the colours and styles used. They work well together but also individually and would make great gifts. I’d had a pretty tough day when my box arrived so the one about deserving a break really resonated with me.

Extraordinarily organised

At first I wasn’t sure about this and how I would use it but then I looked in my handbag and realised its exactly what I need! I don’t know about you but I always seem to accumulate pens, medicines, hair clips, random Kinder Egg toys my 7 year old has discarded, etc at the bottom of my bag. The biggest culprit being an inhaler because I have very extreme hay-fever. This pouch is absolutely perfect for storing all these little bits and bobs and keeping them in one handy place. I’ve added the mirror, sunblock stick and mints into this too.

Pocket smile

I love the design on this mirror. I have popped it into the pouch and it’s now safely tucked away in my handbag.

Not a lot to say about these mints. They are mints? Its always handy to have some and I love that they match the smile mirror so I’ve kept them together with the sunblock.

This was a great addition as I can be a bit forgetful about sun cream on days that aren’t blazing sunshine, but still require sun cream. I’m getting better, but having this mini stick handy is great and will be a perfect way to make sure we don’t catch the sun too much especially on our faces.

Speaking of handy reminders these little cute sticky notes definitely made me smile and I’ve already started using them around the house. Sometimes you just need a bit of ridiculousness in your life.

The last item in the box is this tiny little trinket dish. I’ve been trying to wear different earrings lately as I tend to stick with the same old boring silver hoops. This dish will be the perfect place to store them when I am wearing something else, maybe some jazzy beaded or tasselled numbers to complement my necklace!

Our score: 9.8/ 10

I was having a hard week when the latest box from Boxcitement arrived and it was just the pick me up I needed. I've only marked the score down slightly because I have a few handbag mirrors already and I don't think this i the first I've had from Boxcitement either so I wanted to mention it; but I am being very picky. Having totted up the approximate value of all the items in this months box I estimated around £28-£30 so this one is very good value for money.
