When the parcel arrived from ZBox this month, as with every month – I got a little excited. It’s a means to channel my inner-geek and grow my geeky collection by subscribing every month and what I really love is the unexpected every month. If you are new to the ZBox subscription it’s a monthly box filled with 4-7 geeky gamer style products for £18.49 with a value of over £35.00 and with many monthly exclusives too. What I like about this subscription is that you aren’t tied into any lengthy contracts, you can cancel any time if you decide it’s not for you. Each month expect to find your monthly box will have a theme and all the contents will reflect this, it’s a fun way to grow your collection and to receive lots of unexpected products for geek/gamer lovers. Also every box will have a good quality cotton t-shirt so don’t forget to include your t-shirt size when you register.
“Some characters pass into history for their inspiring and heroic deeds. These characters are LEGENDS. This month we are celebrating the legendary icons that have defined some of the world’s favourite TV, film and gaming franchises.”
On to this month’s box and the theme was ‘Legends’ and with five perfect additions this month as well as the beautiful box they were housed in I wasn’t disappointed. Let me first talk about the box, yes I mean the actual box it’s delivered in. It’s a thing of beauty as once you open it up you see the beautiful artwork inside, it really is worth keeping every month and I just can’t bear to throw any of the boxes away! So from the off when the box hits my postbox I am intrigued as I know that there will be wonderful themed illustrations inside the box itself as well as a box full of geeky goodies.
As I have mentioned each box has a t-shirt inside and this month it was a Zelda that was featured in colourful graphics. I find that adding a t-shirt into each box gives great value as many of the branded t-shirts retail at over £10 and I am yet not to like any of the additions. Another item following the Zelda theme is the fabulous Zelda Mug, a great design and in a funky shield shape – what’s not to love for all the Zelda fans out there! It’s quite sturdy and heavy and ideal for your daily cuppa, that is if you can bear to use it – you may want to display it on a collector style shelf instead!
Next from DC is a real collectors figure and every ZBoxer will either receive a Flash figure or a Robin figure and to be honest they both look really great. I got the Flash figure in my box (Barry Allen has never looked so good!) and if you have seen the DC Figures before you will know they look and feel very high end, the craftsmanship and paintwork is of a high standard and they are heavier than most I have seen. Prepare to love the figure you get in your ZBox and believe me when I say this will spur you on to collect them all!
If you have watched the Arrow TV series you will know all about Oliver Queen and his quest to right wrongs in Starling city and in this month’s ZBox every subscriber has the novel to read as well. Arrow Vengeance by Oscar Balderrama and Lauren Certo follows the adventures and story of Oliver Queen and how he overcomes adversity and fights evil as the Arrow. It proves to be a gripping book and fans of the TV show will be hooked – all we need now is the t-shirt!
Lastly in this month’s ZBox another legend in the form of Super Mario, in his cart no less. Classic styled Super Mario is collectable and in pull back style and with no batteries needed you can play with it as soon as it is out of the packaging. So there you have it this month’s highly anticipated ‘Legends’ ZBox and as well as the geeky products inside don’t forget to read the ZBox Magazine as it’s full of information and puzzles on the monthly theme as well as interviews. My verdict of this month’s box is that it gives great value and a lot of variety, it’s clear that a lot of planning and thought goes into each box and I feel that shows and makes the ZBox stand out from the rest. Next month’s theme is ‘Invasion’ so prepare for some fabulous products to be added.
