Vegan Cuts Beauty Box – February 2016 review

This month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box has arrived and I was super excited to open it up as I loved January’s box so much!

If you’re not familiar with Vegan Cuts, they offer two different monthly subscription boxes; a monthly Lifestyle Box and a Beauty Box. The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box delivers 4-7 vegan and cruelty-free products straight to your door with most of the goodies also being natural and/or organic. Everything is a surprise so you could receive skincare, makeup, haircare etc and the products can be a mix of full, travel and sample sizes.

They’re a great box to sign up to if you’re looking to discover new green/ethical/eco-friendly brands and products as they do all the legwork and label reading for you, so you can just sit back, open up the box each month and enjoy the products with a clear conscious.

So let’s see what’s inside February’s Vegan Cuts Beauty box…

(1) 100% Pure Eye Creamstick Liner (full size worth $18)

I’m always happy to receive makeup in my beauty boxes so I was thrilled to find this gorgeous double-ended cream eyeshadow liner stick from Aussie brand, 100% Pure, in the box. One end has the shade ‘Chocolate’ and the other has the shade ‘Champagne’ as you can see above.

I’ve quickly swatched these and I’m very impressed by the pigmentation and how buttery smooth the formula is. I love both of the shades and can see myself wearing these on a regular basis!

(2) The Wonder Seed Facial Cream (full size worth $16.95)

I’ve seen The Wonder Seed featured on Alicia Silverstone’s ‘The Kind Life’ blog before, so with her seal of approval for this American brand, I’m looking forward to trying out this Facial Cream. Suitable for all skin types and specially formulated to nourish, moisturise and reduce the appearance of wrinkles for smoother, younger-looking skin. Well who doesn’t want that?! This cream is 100% vegan, cruelty-free,

This cream is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free and doesn’t contain any parabens or artificial fragrances, and this full-size tube is a whopping 71ml so it’s excellent value for money too.

(3) Harvey Prince Organics Perfume in Yogini (8ml deluxe travel size worth $23)

Perfume can be a risky product to include in a beauty box as I find that fragrance is such a personal thing , however I think Vegan Cuts have done well choosing this one from Harvey Prince Organics as I can see it appealing to lots of people.

This is a very luxurious perfume created with eco-friendly and high-quality ingredients that are free from harmful chemicals like phthalates, parabens and sulphates. It’s housed in an elegant glass bottle that has a handy rollerball applicator for using on the go – this would be perfect for handbags and taking on holiday.

The scent I received is called ‘Yogini’ which smells very warm and sensual thanks to its top notes of Sandalwood, Incense, Golden Amber, Ylang Ylang and Vanilla to name a few of the natural ingredients included.

(4) Tara Smith Haircare Base Coat Serum (25ml travel size worth $13)

The last product in the box instantly put a smile on my face when I saw the cute bird on the packaging! This is a Base Coat Serum from natural haircare brand, Tara Smith, and it has Starflower Seed Extract and Coconut Oil in it to help eliminate frizz, lock in hydration and style hair without weighing it down.

I haven’t tried out many natural styling products like this before, so I’m looking forward to giving it a go as my hair is naturally very frizzy and dry so it sounds perfect for me.
