Christmas in New York has been depicted in countless movies as one of the best places to spend the holidays in, and I can see all the well-known tourist spots covered in snow, with streets filled with Christmas shoppers running around in my mind. So it seemed like an obvious (but still perfect!) choice for Scent From to visit the Big Apple for their December box. I was hoping for lots of warm and cosy festive scents, and I wasn’t disappointed!
When the box arrived, I noticed how much heavier it was than usual. Now, you should never judge a subscription box on its weight, but there’s something reassuring about receiving a decent sized box! I couldn’t wait to open it up, and found all of the following candle and home fragrance treats inside.
Flamingo Candles Bah! Humbug Candle
This adorable reindeer printed, limited edition, full-size candle comes from the quirky Flamingo Candles company, and it smells EXACTLY like humbug mints! It’s sweet and deliciously pepperminty, yet has a really comforting overall scent to it. It’s made from soy wax so it will burn cleanly (no soot or black smoke), and it’s hand-poured here in the UK. As it’s one of their luxury, full-size candles, it’ll burn for around 40 hours and has an excellent scent throw that fills my whole living room quickly.
Flamingo Candles Chocolate Orange Candle
Well this explains why the box was heavier than usual as I found another gorgeous luxury full-size candle from Flamingo Candles inside – how awesome is that?! Hand-poured and made from the same soy wax base, this one has a mouth-watering Chocolate Orange scent which I absolutely love. I think that chocolate and orange is one of the best flavour combinations when it comes to sweet things and like the Bah! Humbug candle above, this one also smells exactly like its namesake. When I first lit it, one of my housemates came downstairs and asked if I was baking anything because the scent throw was so strong! Burns for 40 hours and will make your house smell like melted Terrys Orange – yum!
Flamingo Candles Gingerbread Scent Melt
We’re on a Flamingo Candles roll here, and the third home fragrance product this month is a lovely Gingerbread scented wax melt. Made from organic soy wax, this has uplifting notes of Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger and Nutmeg on a rich base of Vanilla cake for a sweet and utterly festive scent experience. Flamingo Candles have really done an incredible job with these amazing fragrances because it smells good enough to eat!
Jones Home & Gift Candle Holder
Symbolising the jagged city skyline of New York, this white geometric metal and glass candle holder makes for an eye-catching piece on a bedside table or vanity desk. White and chic, it goes with any colour scheme and is an interesting way to present a small candle. I love its modern simplicity and it fits right at home in my bedroom.
Amazing value for money box from Scent From with not one, but two full sized luxury candles, a gorgeous scented wax melt and a beautiful home accessory. My favourite box from them so far.
