There are lots of beauty subscription boxes around, but what sets Roccabox apart from the rest is that they collaborate with a different beauty blogger every month, who curates a special box of their favourite products. I think this is a great idea because subscribers can then be introduced to a variety of beauty products from different brands – win win!
Each Roccabox contains five beauty items featuring both full-size products and deluxe-sized samples, and the August box has a fab mix of skincare, makeup and pampering treats. The box arrives via courier and is slightly larger than the likes of Glossybox and Birchbox, with rose-gold branding on the front. All of the contents are carefully cushioned in lots of pink shredded paper, and there’s a leaflet included which details all of the products inside and has a short beauty blogger intro.
August’s Roccabox is curated by Em Sheldon from Emtalks and she has included some of her favourite new beauty must-haves. Let’s take a closer look shall we?
Miss Patisserie Sea Salt Bath Melt (RRP £4.50)
When I opened the box, the first thing that I was noticed was this gorgeous scent which comes from an adorable cupcake shaped bath melt! Made by Miss Pattiserie, this vegan-friendly bath melt contains Sea Salt to detoxify and cleanse, and Cocoa and Shea Butter to deeply nourish the skin. What a beautiful pampering bathtime treat?!
Elemis Hydra Boost Day Cream (15ml travel size, RRP is £39 for full size)
The next product that I picked up was this travel size tube of Elemis Hydra Boost Day Cream. Packed full of key ingredients such as Anti-Oxidants, Hyaluronic Acid, Starflower Oil and Vitamin E, this facial moisturiser has been specially formulated for dry skin to lock in moisture and protect it from free radicals, keeping it plump and smooth at the same time. Unfortunately, I don’t have dry skin, but I will be passing this onto my mum who is a big fan of Elemis.
St. Tropez Self Tan Express Face Sheet Mask (RRP £8)
I love self-tanning and I love sheet masks so you can imagine how happy I was when I saw this self-tanning sheet mask from St. Tropez! I couldn’t wait to try it and used it on the same day that the box arrived. This mask is infused with St. Tropez’s Express Tan formula and also contains Hyaluronic Acid to give the skin a big shot of hydration whilst the tan is working. You can choose how dark you want to go by adjusting how long you leave the mask on for e.g 5 minutes for a light colour, 10 minutes for medium and 15 minutes for dark. I left it on for 10 minutes and loved the golden, sun-kissed results!
Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Drivers Seat (deluxe sample size, RRP is £19 for the full-size)
Moving onto makeup, this liquid lipstick from Smashbox comes in a beautiful warm browny/pink shade and has an awesome matte formula that feels lightweight and comfortable on the lips. I’m really impressed with this as many liquid lipsticks are too drying for me, but the texture and performance of this one is brilliant!
Nails Inc Nail Kale Nail Polish in Claremont Street (full size, RRP £15)
The last product is a nail polish from Nail Inc’s popular Nail Kale range. This range is formulated with Kale extract to nourish, protect and strengthen nails, whilst still delivering high-performance colour. I have quite a lot of Nails Inc nail polishes as they are fantastic quality, and this one is no exception. I also love this shade Claremont Street which is a stunning pale mint green. A lovely addition to my nail polish collection.
