The Pip Box – March 2017: Cruelty Free Beauty Box

One of the latest beauty subscription boxes to arrive on the market is The Pip Box, and I have a feeling that this one’s going to be a really popular one!

Launched just last month, The Pip Box only works with cruelty-free beauty brands as they want to help inform the public of how easy it is to go cruelty-free and support kind and caring brands. I’m really surprised that there aren’t more boxes of this nature around, as I’m often inundated with emails from readers of my personal blog who want to know which brands that I feature are cruelty-free, and which ones aren’t. There’s definitely a big demand for this, so it’s no surprise that The Pip Box quickly sold out of their first box in February!

Finding out which brands are cruelty-free can be a time-consuming process, so The Pip Box do all of the hard work for you and source only the best quality products. Everything is of course guaranteed to be cruelty-free, with the majority of the items that they include also being natural, organic and/or vegan too, which I love seeing more of in beauty boxes.

Every month, you’ll receive a selection of five beauty products that The Pip Box have chosen, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on their March edition. The box arrived via Royal Mail, with everything carefully wrapped in blue tissue paper. On the top was a card detailing all of the products inside and they also included some generous discount codes for some of the brands featured.

Here are the cruelty-free beauty products that I discovered from The Pip Box this month:-Maggie Anne 6 Toxin Free Gel Effect Nail Polish (full size, RRP £10.50)

I love nail polish, and I’ve been looking at more natural based alternatives over the past couple of months, so finding one from the brand Maggie Anne was great! This one’s formulated without six of the main toxins that are found in a lot of mainstream nail polishes, and it offers an ultra glossy, high-shine, gel-effect finish. Suitable for vegans, this nail polish is also PETA certified cruelty-free and Beauty Without Bunnies license approved so that you know that no animals were harmed in the making of this product. In addition, Maggie Anne have recently just won the Best Nail Brand in this year’s Beauty Shortlist Awards which is amazing news and goes to show how high-quality their products are. I received the shade Sophie 104 which is a beautiful bright purple that looks ideal for Spring – I can’t wait to treat myself to a manicure with it this weekend!Weleda Evening Rose Primrose Age Revitalizing Day Cream (7ml travel size sample)

Weleda are one of my favourite natural brands and their range of skin and body care products is just fantastic because they don’t contain any ‘nasties’ like mineral oil, synthetic ingredients or any artificial additives. This day cream is enriched with Organic Evening Primrose Oil to help strengthen and firm the skin, whilst evening out the complexion and providing it with intensive moisture. Unfortunately, this day cream is for more mature skin than mine, but luckily my mum is also a fan of Weleda, so I’ll be including this as a little extra into her Mother’s Day gift on Sunday as I know she’ll enjoy trying it out.Bee Good Lime Blossom & Honey Lip Balm (full size, RRP £4.75) & Bee Good Honey & Propolis 2-in-1 Cream Cleanser with a muslin cloth (30ml travel size, RRP £4.95).

Next up, I found two products from British brand Bee Good who I really like as I’ve used a few of their products in the past. On the left, we have a full-size Lime Blossom & Honey Lip Balm which contains lots of natural based ingredients to provide an intensive nourishing balm for dry or chapped lips. I’ve been using this before going to bed, only applying a small amount, and it’s been doing wonders for my dry lips. By the morning, they feel much softer and thoroughly moisturised so this gets a thumbs up from me!

On the right is a travel size 2-in-1 Cream Cleanser which is a thick and rich creamy cleanser that you can use to remove makeup and everyday impurities. It comes complete with a muslin cloth, and I’ve been enjoying using this in the evenings as it feels gentle on my skin, doesn’t irritate my eyes when I use it to remove eyeliner and mascara, and it leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft afterwards.  Miss Patisserie Cupcake Bath Melt

The last product looks good enough to eat, but don’t because it’s actually a bath melt! This adorable cupcake-shaped bath melt has been handmade by Miss Patisserie and contains nourishing cocoa and shea butters to deeply moisturise the skin. It’s vegan-friendly and smells deliciously sweet. I honestly didn’t want to use it because it looks so pretty, but I popped it into a bath last night and my skin was left so soft and silky when I got out an hour afterwards. Amazing!

The Pip Box is a wonderful subscription box for anyone who wants to discover more cruelty-free brands and I loved the mix of products that they included in this month’s box as there’s a bit of everything (makeup, skincare and a pampering treat!). To add to the feel good factor, The Pip Box also donate 50p to an animal charity (March’s charity is the Dr Hadwen Trust) for every box sold – how awesome is that?
