Myvitamins Snackbox – July 2017

If you buy vitamins and supplements online, you may have already heard of Myvitamins as they sell a huge range of products through their website. But did you know that they do a monthly Snackbox as well? More than just a box of healthy snacks, this subscription box also includes a mix of vitamins, supplements, high protein foods, whole foods and superfoods, and it’s sent directly to your door every month.

It’s a really convenient and useful way to try out some new products and the contents of each box are always worth at least £35, so it’s fantastic value for money considering that the monthly subscription fee starts from just £12.99, depending on how long you sign up for (e.g it’s cheaper if you take out a 12 month subscription than just a 3 month one). There’s also the option to order a one-off box for £16.99.

I was kindly sent July’s Myvitamins Snackbox to try out to show you what you can expect to find inside:-

Myvitamins Omega 3, 6 & 9 (60 soft gel capsules)

These soft gel capsules provide the complete balance of Omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids that your body needs every day (Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA – derived from fish oil), Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), Linoleic Acid, Gamma Linoleic Acid and Oleic Acid). The Omegas contribute to the normal function of the brain, heart, and eyes, helping to keep them healthy and working as they should. Each capsule gives 1200mg and it’s recommended that you take one twice a day.

Myvitamins D3 (90 soft gel capsules)

Most people will be familiar with the benefits of Vitamin D via sunlight, but as we don’t get much of it throughout the year naturally (many people have a deficiency), it can be incredibly beneficial to take it as a supplement. Vitamin D3 helps to contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system, and absorption and utilisation of Calcium, contributing to the maintenance of normal bones, muscle function and teeth.  This one provides a high strength amount of Vitamin D3 (62.5 mcg per capsule) and is easy to swallow.

Myvitamins Joint Effort (30 tablets)

Joint Effort is a multivitamin food supplement which utilises several key active ingredients (MSM, Flaxseed Oil, Rosehip Extract, Ginger Extract, Tumeric Extract and Apple Cider Vinegar) into one daily capsule that also provides 125% of your Vitamin C recommendation. Vitamin C is essential for the body and helps to contribute towards normal collagen formation and keeps joints healthy.

Myprotein Chocolate Flavour Baked Cookie

A healthy chocolate cookie? Yes please! This one from Myprotein is suitable for vegans and contains a whopping 13g of protein per cookie. The protein comes from a mixture of Pea and Soy, and it tastes delicious! The chocolate flavour is really good and it’s very sweet and satisfying without the overly dry taste that many high-protein cookies have. Perfect as a pre or post-workout snack.

Oatein Milk Chocolate Chip Super Cookie

For a different type of flavour and texture, try the Oatein Super Cookie which packs in 12.2g of protein per cookie. In my box was the Milk Chocolate flavour which has small chocolate chips throughout and contains a mix of oats for a more filling post-workout treat. I heated this up in the microwave for a few seconds to allow the chocolate chips to melt slightly which turned this cookie into a delicious sweet snack.

Trek Berry Burst Wholefood Energy Bar

I love Trek bars and usually have at least one in my handbag to stave off any hunger pangs or afternoon slumps. This one is their popular Berry Burst flavour which is really good and it contains 10g of soy based protein per bar. It’s also gluten, wheat and dairy free so lots of people can enjoy these!

BeetActive Concentrated Beetroot Juice

I’ve read a lot about taking beetroot juice as a pre-workout drink in several health and fitness magazines recently, so I was pleased to see this sample in the July box as I’ve been wanting to try it out for myself. It is something of an acquired taste but I quite like it! Easy to dilute into water or a juice, and it gives you a natural boost for your workout.

Beanies Flavour Coffee Variety Pack (12 x Flavour Instant Coffee Sticks)

The last product in this month’s Myvitamins Snackbox was a fantastic Variety Pack from Beanies. There are twelve different instant coffee flavour sticks in this pack including Ginger Bread, Chocolate Orange, Creamy Caramel, Amaretto, Irish Cream and Cookie Dough to name just a few. They are all amazing! So yummy and only 2 calories per cup!

Our score: 9.2/ 10

Fantastic box from Myvitamins this month with a great range of vitamins, high-protein snacks and delicious extras. The Beanies Coffee Variety Pack was my favourite product, though I also really loved both of the protein cookies!
