Cocktails are one of my favourite weekend pleasures and what’s better than finding a more affordable way to make some at home with your friends and family? This is where MicroBarBox comes in with their monthly Cocktail Club Box. Inside the box, you’ll find a range of premium spirits and mixers, plus some extras, so that you can make between 4-6 cocktails. I really enjoy seeing what spirits they include, as every month is different, and it’s a fantastic way to try something new!
The MicroBarBox is pretty big and arrives via courier. Each product is housed in its own compartment within the box as you can see above, which ensures that everything arrives in perfect condition.
On top of the box is the illustrated Cocktail Menu which shows you how to put together that month’s cocktail recipes – all of which sound amazing! The menu changes every month and February’s box has some gorgeous ‘loved up’ cocktails to celebrate Valentine’s Day this month.
Inside the box, I found all of the following products:-
- 1 x J J Whitley Potato Vodka
- 1 x Bronte Liqueur
- 1 x Funkin Strawberry Woo Woo Cocktail Mixer
- 1 x Wild Vodka Strawberry Liqueur
- 1 x Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur
- 1 x The Berry Company Pomegranate Juice
- 1 x Baileys Original Irish Liqueur
- 1 x Folkington’s Sicilian Lemonade
- 1 x Chambrook Sweet Chilli Walnuts & Cashews Mix (extra snack!)
There are six cocktails to make, which are mostly new contemporary ones, so let’s get this party started!
Cocktail 1: Strawberry Woo Woo
First up, we have the fruity favourite, a Strawberry Woo Woo, which consists of 1/2 J J Whitley Potato Vodka and 1/3 Bronte Liqueur, mixed together in a shaker with the Funkin Cocktail Mixer and plenty of ice. This was sweet, fruity and absolutely delicious. It reminds me of fun summer holidays by the beach!
Cocktail 2: Love Potion
Another beautiful pink cocktail is Love Potion which is made from 1/2 Wild Vodka Strawberry Liqueur, 1/2 Chambord and 1/3 Berry Company Pomegranate Juice, mixed together over some ice. This was another sweet and fruity drink with a slight tart tang from the pomegranate base.
Cocktail 3: Bronte Liqueur
Next, I went for something simple for a nightcap. This Bronte Liqueur is a quick and easy on-the-rocks drink that you can enjoy sipping as you wind down for the evening. I really enjoyed this as I was able to fully appreciate the flavours of the Blackberry and Sloe Liqueur. I would definitely buy a full-size bottle of this!
Cocktail 4: Strawberry Shot
If you prefer something sweeter and fruitier, this Strawberry Shot was another easy on-the-rocks drink that you can enjoy, and it used the rest of the Wild Vodka Strawberry Liqueur. Yum!
Cocktail 5: Tall Redhead
Moving back to the long cocktails, this Tall Redhead was a deliciously summery pink drink that was made up of 1/2 J J Whitley Potato Vodka, 1/3 Berry Company Pomegranate Juice and the can of Folkington’s Sicilian Lemonade for some extra fruity fizz! The lemonade worked really well with the vodka and pomegranate flavours – I’d happily make this again!
Cocktail 6: Chambord Kiss
Saving my personal favourite for last, this is the Chambord Kiss, which marries together two of my favourite liqueurs, Baileys and Chambord, for a simple, yet utterly delicious and decadent cocktail treat. The perfect way to round off your weekend!
