I love painting my nails at home and treating myself to a manicure – there’s just something about a fresh coat of nail polish that makes you feel good about yourself isn’t there? This is why my latest subscription box obsession is one that’s all about nails. It’s called Mani and Lola and every month they’ll send you a box which contains 5-8 products from a variety of high-end and premium nail polish brands, salon professional nail treatments, nail care tools and accessories. Each box is also guaranteed to include at least three full-sized products, so you’re getting fantastic value for money compared to how much it would cost you to purchase the products individually from a shop.
The Mani and Lola box is presented beautifully in a pull-out drawer style, and there’s lots of cushioning to protect all of the products during transit. February’s box is all about saying goodbye to Winter and embracing brighter, lighter and braver colours for the Spring months ahead. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?
Mani and Lola 1000/4000 Super Shiner (RRP £2.95)
The first step to a good manicure is a great base and this clever 1000/4000 Super Shiner from Mani and Lola’s own brand nailcare range is a clever priming tool that let’s you achieve a glass-like finish to the surface of your nails. This will give you a natural glossy sheen as a base before you’re ready to paint your nails for a truly professional finish – genius!
Salon System Nail Polish Remover (RRP £4.95)
Next up, I found a bottle of Salon System Nail Polish Remover which is a brilliant acetone-free formula so that it’s as kind and gentle to your nails as possible. I always use acetone-free removers as I have quite thin nails, and this one is really good – it gets the job done quickly without any mess.
Essie Gel Couture Top Coat and Gel Couture Nail Colour in Rock The Runway (RRP £10.95)
How cool are these bottles?! I love Essie so I was thrilled to find two bottles from their bestselling Gel Couture range. The white bottle is the Top Coat; a super glossy formula that creates a gorgeous gel-like finish to any nail polish. It also doubles up as a durable glossy top coat to keep your manicure looking its best for longer. The Nail Colour is called Rock The Runway, and it’s a beautiful, bright tangerine tinted jelly-red – perfect to liven up fingers and toes!
Nails Inc Nail Polish in Mermaid Parade (RRP £15)
For something lighter and brighter, Mani and Lola have included Mermaid Parade, a brand new 2018 shade from Nails Inc. This is described as a classic iridescent aqua turquoise that’s reminiscent of a glistening mermaid’s tale, and I have to agree! It’s really unique and special, and is sure to be one of those colours that’s going to be popular throughout Spring and Summer this year, especially at festivals. It applies sheer, but you can use around 3 coats to a get a pretty true-to-the-bottle shade.
OPI Lisbon 2018 Made It To Seventh Hill Nail Lacquer (RRP £12.50)
From OPI’s latest Spring/Summer 2018 Collection that’s inspired by the energetic city of Lisbon, is a stunning Nail Lacquer called Made It To Seventh Hill. This shade is a very pretty golden champagne rose colour that has a metallic sheen and works incredibly well as a transitional Spring shade. Looks even more gorgeous in real life!
Maggie Anne Nail Lacquer in Eileen (RRP £10.50)
The final nail polish from this month’s box is from one of my favourite new nail brand discoveries, Maggie Anne. This one called Eileen is an intense pink holographic glitter that’s incredibly densely packed with loads of sparkle. It’s absolutely stunning and creates a mesmerizing multi-dimensional shine that takes on different colours when it’s in different types of light. I love glittery nail polishes and this is the new star of my collection!
As a little extra as it’s Valentine’s Day this month, there’s also a mini packet of Love Hearts included – how sweet!
