LookFantastic Box – January 2018

Out of all the beauty subscription boxes on the market, LookFantastic has to be my favourite! The boxes are always so well presented, put together and contain a wide range of brands. The January box is a little late but overall I’m happy with it! For the January box there are six items, all of which seem to be deluxe sample sizes rather than full sized products. I am a little disappointed by the boring box design this month but hopefully next months will be better!

The first product in the box is the Erno Laszlo Light Controlling Toner which is designed for acne or oily prone skin which sadly isn’t mine so I can’t really use this item. There are two other toners you could have received including the hydraphel skin supplement or the white marble essence lotion. I like the packaging but it has a strong fragrance scent to it so I won’t be using it on my dry, sensitive skin.

Next up is the only makeup item in the box! It’s the Model Co 3D Lash Primer which is a makeup item I’ve never really tried. I like the idea of a lash primer so I can’t wait to try it soon. Within the leaflet, there is a new section under the product description that explains how to use each product which I definitely appreciate.

The next skincare item is from a brand that I love, Balance Me. It’s the Balance me Congested Skin Serum which is a lightweight serum for congested, combination skin which again, isn’t my skin type. I do love serums as a skincare item so I’ll still give it a go as my skin usually likes this natural, gentle brand.

Sticking with the skincare theme, the next item is the Korres White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser. I love Korres as a brand and their shower gels and lip balms are amazing. I haven’t tried their skincare but I’ve heard nothing but great things so I’m interested to see how this cleanser works for my skin type.

Monu Skincare is another brand that pops up in beauty boxes frequently, along with Balance me and Model Co. I have tried their skincare before but I don’t think I’ve tried the body care products. This is a lovely ginger, lemongrass and orange body oil that can also be used as a bath oil. I love bath oils so I will give this a try very soon! It smells heavenly so I’m sure that I’ll love it.

The final item is the one I’m most excited about! It is the ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp Mud which is a treatment to condition and nourish the hair and scalp. It smells so nice, I’ve heard fantastic things about this brand and I cannot wait to try it as my hair needs all of the help it can get, especially during the colder months.

Our score: 8.8/ 10

Overall, it was a little bit of a mixed bag this month but on the whole, I'm happy with the products especially the hair and scalp mud treatment, the 3D lash primer and the ginger bath oil - I'm going to try all of them very soon as they sound so promising. My only main complaint about this box is that most of the skincare products aren't really suitable for my skin type.
