The theme for this month’s My Little Box is centred around enhancing and embracing your natural beauty without needing to use a filter on your selfies. Think of a typical, fresh-faced, ‘no makeup makeup’ look, and that’ll give you a good idea as to what March’s box is all about.
There are seven beauty and lifestyle products packed into this month’s box, and the very first item is actually what everything’s packed into as there’s no traditional box this time around.
Instead, My Little Box have gifted their subscribers with a special one-off , PVC makeup bag that features a pretty pastel pink ombre/gradient to it, and has the slogan ‘#No Filter sil vous plait’ on the front. I really love this bag because it’s a large size, so there’s plenty of space for all of your beauty bits like makeup and toiletries. It feels good quality and strong too (sometimes these PVC bags are very thin, but this one’s a lot more robust), so it’d be a good one to use as a travel bag.Beauty Notes notebook
Opening up the bag, I found a pocket-sized Beauty Notes notebook on the top which has a cute makeup print theme on the cover. Inside, there are inspirational quotes and advice on body and skincare confidence from a range of women including actresses, models and Instagram stars, alongside general tips on how to care for your skin to get it looking the best it can be without makeup. The rest of the notebook is filled with empty lined pages for you to add your own tips and tricks, or just to use as a place to jot down your daily thoughts or to-do lists.Selfie Ring for Smartphones
The next lifestyle product is something quite different as it’s a ‘ring’ for your smartphone. It’s basically a rose gold metal square that has a silver ring attached to it, and you can adhere it to your phone to help you get a grip when you’re taking selfies. Pretty neat idea! My Little Box also say that it can be used as a mini-tripod for when you’re taking portrait and landscape photos, and the ring element has 360 degrees rotation capability – how clever! My Little Box Selfie Brush
Keeping with the consistent selfie theme, there’s a My Little Box branded makeup brush which has a lovely rose gold metallic ferrule and gradient pink bristles which are really nice and soft. You can use this brush with all base textures from creams to powders etc, and I’ve found that it works especially well for applying mineral foundation, blushers and translucent finishing/setting powders. Great quality and washes well too as I haven’t had any issues with anything like shedding yet.My Little Beauty Nail Polish
I’m a huge nail polish junkie, so I love receiving them in beauty boxes, and I think this is the first time I’ve had one from My Little Box’s own brand cosmetics range called My Little Beauty. The nail polish is in a pretty pale pink/nude shade which looks great for french manicures or when you just want your nails to look nice and polished without being OTT.Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder (1g travel size) and Laura Mercier Blemish-Less Foundation Primer (15ml travel size).
The last two products in this month’s My Little Box come from two well-known high-end brands, and I have to say that I was thrilled to find these included as I’ve been wanting to try both of these particular products! On the left, there’s the famous Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder which is used by makeup artists around the world and is meant to be one of the best finishing powders on the market so I’m really excited to be able to try it out for myself! And on the right, there’s the brand new Laura Mercier Blemish-Less Foundation Primer in a generous travel size tube. I currently use the regular foundation primer from Laura Mercier, but this new formula sounds much better suited for my oily/combination skin.
I was slightly disappointed with last month’s My Little Box, but after receiving this one, they’ve certainly redeemed themselves and bounced back with a fantastic box for beauty fans!
