Whilst other beauty and lifestyle boxes this month decided to do something based around Love or Valentine’s Day, My Little Box chose a different concept, and instead decided to take its subscribers on a trip to the Mountains for a more Winter friendly themed box. To illustrate the theme, there was a special wintery print on the box itself depicting snowy trees, chalets and people skiing, which I thought was pretty cute.
As always with My Little Box, you’ll receive a selection of beauty, fashion and lifestyle products every month so here’s what I found inside February’s edition:-Kanako Print
This month’s Kanako print features a woman on a ski lift alongside the inspirational quote by Yvon Chouinard; “How you climb a mountain is more important than reaching the top”. I couldn’t agree more! We often get so wrapped up in the end result of something that we forget to enjoy the journey along the way, so this is a nice illustrated reminder to have in your office or study room.
My Little Box Top of the Notes
A pack of sticky notes with the same print cover as the box lid. The notes are shaped like mountains and plain inside. I’m a big stationery geek and love stuff like this and as I’m a student, these will certainly come in handy!
Get Cosy: A Little Book To Warm You Up
With the decision to no longer publish the My Little World magazine which used to come with the boxes every month, it’s good to see My Little Box looking at different ways to replace it. However, whilst this little book is reminiscent of the magazine, it’s much smaller/thinner and lacks the variety of content that I’m sure many subscribers are missing. That said, there are some yummy soup recipes included.
Couer de Glace Fabric Pin-on Badge
Enclosed in the winter print themed metal tin, I found a navy blue fabric badge with the slogan ‘Couer de Glace’ meaning ‘Heart Of Ice’ in French. The badge can be pinned onto jackets or bags for a little ‘alpine chic’.
Chunky Ski Snood Knitting Pattern
For this fashion item, My Little Box have teamed up with Stitch & Story to provide a chunky ski snood knitting pattern. I can’t knit myself, so I’ve given this to my sister who is much more crafty and better skilled at these things that I am! Glitter Socks
Staying true to the winter theme, there was a pair of cute navy blue socks with silver glitter threads running through them. At the top, I noticed the words ‘Cold’ and ‘Feet’ which I thought was a nice extra touch. I always appreciate receiving socks as they’re one of those essentials that you can never have too many of!Inside this month’s cotton drawstring bag, I found three beauty products:-
My Little Beauty Fresh Kiss Lip Balm (full size)
Lip balm is an absolute must during the winter months to keep lips moisturised, and if you ever saw my vanity table, you’ll see lip balms everywhere! Always happy to have another one to add to the stash, and this feels smooth and hydrating on the lips.
Benefit Porefessional Makeup Primer (7.5ml travel size)
I really like this makeup primer and have used up samples of it in the past. It’s a silicone based primer which makes skin look flawless by filling in any fine lines and reducing the appearance of enlarged pores. If you’re a selfie fan, this is one to try out.
Polar Instant Eye Contour Energiser (full size)
This is a cooling eye treatment to help eliminate puffiness, brighten up dark circles and it also stimulates eyelash growth. The applicator is a roll-on, so it’s easy to use and apply, and it does feel very cooling! I imagine I’ll get a lot of use out of this during the summer months when hayfever season arrives.
Although I liked the wintery mountains theme, I can’t help but feel that this month’s box is a little lacking in terms of value for money and there weren’t any real ‘wow’ products this time around for me. Not their best box in my opinion, so I’m hoping that next month’s is much better.
