The GreenEcoBox is a brand new subscription box that has recently launched, and it’s aimed at eco-conscious consumers who want to discover products that are good for them and the environment. Working with more than 70 artisans from all over the UK and Europe, GreenEcoBox will send you an exciting monthly Bee Happy Box that features a mix of lifestyle-related products such as gourmet food, drink and cosmetics, which you won’t be able to find at your local grocery store.
I’m always happy to support eco-friendly initiatives like this and couldn’t wait to see what was in their first ever Bee Happy Box!
The box arrived quickly from Europe and was much bigger than I expected. On top of the contents, I found an information leaflet which explains the environmental projects that GreenEcoBox supports. For every Bee Happy box sold, they donate £4.50 to Greenpeace and they also plant a tree in Haiti on your behalf (by OneTreePlanted) to help reduce deforestation and offset the shipping of the box itself. They even send you a personalised certificate to prove it – how cool is that?!
All of the products were carefully packaged and everything arrived in perfect condition. Let’s take a closer look at what I found inside:-
L’Alchmiste Clementine de Corsica Syrup
The first product that I picked up was a large glass bottle of L’Alchmiste Clementine de Corsica Syrup. Handmade in the Chevreuse Valley in France, this fruity syrup is made from all-natural ingredients (Sugar, Pure Clementine Juice sourced from Corsica, Ylang Ylang from Mayotte and Pure Lemon Juice), so there are no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. This syrup is absolutely delicious and bursting full of flavour! You can use it drizzled over Ice Creams, Cakes, Fruit Salads, but my favourite way to enjoy it is in a Rum Cocktail – yum!
Knusperreich Bio Cookies
Next up, I found another large item, this time a tub of organic cookies! These are handmade in Germany using only certified organic ingredients and they are stacked so that each layer reveals a different flavour of cookie which is amazing. So far, I’ve tried Apple & Cinnamon and Double Chocolate, and they were both truly delicious so I’m excited to try the other four flavours! They taste even better slightly warmed up beforehand for a few minutes in the oven – perfect with a cup of tea or coffee.
ANNIs Mango Curry Sauce
I’m a big fan of curry and particularly enjoy making my own at home, so I was pleased to see a jar of Mango Curry from the German artisan, ANNIs. This Mango Curry is wonderfully fruity with a little spice and has a lively Carribean flavour. Gluten-free, you can use this with a range of meats such as chicken, pork and shrimps, as well as fried veggies. I made a vegetarian version with it last night and all of my housemates thoroughly enjoyed it!
Mianra Witches Brew Handmade Soap
The fourth product in the Bee Happy box is a beautiful handmade soap from an Irish artisan company called Mianra. This soap features a blend of Wild Harvested Irish Seaweed, French Clay and real Silk to give a superior rich and creamy lather. It also contains Lemon Verbena, Ylang Ylang and Patchouli essential oils which gives this soap the most gorgeous uplifting and zesty scent. What a fabulous find!
GreenEcoBox also included a packet of extras which I thought was a really nice finishing touch to the box. These included a Raspberry Himbeer Framboise Organic Muffin, an organic Madeleine and miniature chocolates from the French fairtrade brand, Valrhona.
