Glossybox April 2015

DSC01172I had a good look around before I picked Glossybox as my first ever beauty box subscription.  The deciding factors were:

1. Perceived value for money – it’s £10 + P&P for 5 items
2. Quality/Type of the items – I could see that they include brands such as Benefit & Lord and Berry, and there were some cool looking nail polishes on there which I love!
3. Packaging – call me shallow, but I want the packaging to reflect the brand and be pretty.
Okay, so I had what felt like a long wait for this box, but when it arrived I couldn’t have been happier.  The April box is a limited edition Iconic Hollywood box and it was a really cool box, which I’ll be keeping to store my makeup in.  I got the green box.  I’m not sure if the other coloured boxes may have contained some different items.  There are cards inside explaining what you have and how much the items cost regularly, which is helpful if you decide you have to buy more of any one item.

The items were: Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in ‘Kiss’, Pop Beauty Eye Liner in ‘Sooty Black’, Colour Club Nail Polish in ‘Barely There’, Astral Face & Body Moisturiser, & IDC Rose Beauty Lotion.
The Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil was a gorgeous orange-red shade that is really in right now, so I was very pleased with that.  Also it went on easily and had excellent staying power.  I’ll definitely be trying more Lord & Berry products out after this!

The Pop Beauty Eye Liner did the job and went on easily.  There was nothing about it that stood out to me as a reason to make it a staple of my makeup bag though so I’m not quite sure what to make of this brand yet.
The Colour Club Nail Polish was a gorgeous nude shade that I was very pleased with.  I wasn’t that keen on the packaging of this, but it was such a great colour I’m willing to forgive that!
The Astral Face & Body Moisturiser was a surprise favourite out of this box.  The cream is thick and definitely hydrating.  My skin felt amazing after I used it.  I will definitely be buying more of this.
The IDC Rose Beauty Lotion was the only item that didn’t appeal to me in the slightest.  The packaging was pretty, but I wasn’t keen at all on the scent and it just felt out of place amongst the other items.
Overall I was very pleased with the items in this box.  It contained a good range of beauty and skin products with great value for money, within a gorgeous collector’s edition box.
Note: Glossybox also allow you to collect ‘glossydots’ to be collected and used to nab yourself a free box!  You can give feedback on the items in your box, and/or recommend friends to get these loyalty points.
