Cheese Posties – #6 Strawberry Shortcake

Proving that there is a subscription box for absolutely everything and everyone, Cheeseposties are one of the tastiest ones around and they’re a must have if you’re a cheese lover!

Every week, fortnight or month (depending on which delivery frequency option you sign up to), Cheeseposties will send you a seriously delicious and gourmet cheese toastie in the post. It comes deconstructed of course, but it only takes a couple of minutes to assemble and toast, and your cheesy breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack is served.

The flavour combinations are out of this world and each one that you receive will be a surprise, so if you have any specific dietary requirements (e.g vegetarian, can’t have nuts etc) or don’t like certain ingredients, make sure to tell them and the team will ensure that you’re catered for. You can also choose whether you want to receive savoury, sweet or both, and I’d highly recommend opting for the latter as you get to experience the best of both worlds that way!

This month’s Cheese Postie arrived just yesterday, and I couldn’t wait to open it up. I received the Strawberry Shortcake flavour which looks intriguing, doesn’t it?!

Every Cheese Postie that you receive will arrive in a long cardboard box that easily slips through your letterbox. It’s dispatched via 1st Class Royal Mail to ensure it’s as fresh as possible when it reaches you and there are now stronger seals on the individual sections to ensure that everything arrives as it should. The Mascarpone looked a little crazy when I opened up the box, but it was perfectly fine and I didn’t have any issues with leakage or anything like that which is impressive for shipping a soft cheese!

I received the following ingredients to make the Strawberry Shortcake Cheese Postie:-

  • Two slices of White Bread
  • Two mini packs of Kerrygold Butter
  • Mascarpone Cheese
  • Strawberry Jam
  • Biscuit Butter

Now comes the fun part!

I decided to spread the Biscuit Butter completely on one side of the bread, and layer up the Strawberry Jam and Mascarpone Cheese on the other side. I skipped the Butter as I didn’t feel like it needed any, but you can butter the outside of your bread if you’re using a toasting bag to get some buttery golden colour action going on.

As always, I prefer to make my cheese toasties in a frying pan with a little Coconut Oil which I personally think gives it the best result possible, but each to their own!

And voila – the finished masterpiece – isn’t she a beauty?!

The Strawberry Cake Cheese Postie will appeal to anyone who loves sweet flavours and the Mascarpone Cheese gives this toastie a whole new level of squidgy, oozy, creamy goodness. It fused well with the Strawberry Jam and the Biscuit Butter for a rich and ridiculously tasty cheesy treat. So good!

Our score: 9.4/ 10
