This is definitely a lovely present for someone or can be a pamper treat for yourself. The Box Delux company offer luxury products (some testers, and some full sized) for you to try before you buy. A great idea. They also offer Wedding products online too ie favors, etc. Whilst there is a monthly subscription, the box I received to review is a sample of the products on offer for the ‘Make Your Own Giftbox’ option  where customers can choose from a number of items in the shop and create their own personalised ‘hamper’ of sorts.

I love the box design. It’s black and simple, very luxurious and sturdy and can be reused for all your makeup, bits and bobs or jewelry too. On opening the box I found lots of lovely items.

I had a mixture of everything. It was all very neatly packed too and hidden in some pink crinkled confetti paper (I’m sure my kids will have that everywhere later!).

The rice pudding took 40 mins to make, but was definitely worth it! It contained the rice, some brown sugar, nougat, dried cherries and almonds. The instructions were easy to follow and the rice pudding itself, was delicious! It was creamy and sweet. A big thumbs up from the whole family. My only negative point was that the bag was torn slightly at the bottom, so some of the rice ended up in the box, rather than the pot. Would definitely have this again though.

The Magnifibres brush on false lashes were my second favourite product in the box. BoxDelux LashesYou simply put it on over your own mascara before it dries, wait a minute then add your mascara again over the fibres. On using it, it looks like white fluff (probably best description) on your lashes. Once you’ve added your mascara on top you can definitely notice your lashes are longer and fuller with very few clumps. For a more noticeable result, you repeat a couple of times. I love this! Not many false lash mascaras out there work in my experience, but this definitely has results, which I did and loved the results. I will definitely be using this to replace my false lashes on my nights out and will also use it for my Wedding day too. The picture below shows one eye with just mascara and the other with mascara and the Magnifibres brush on false lashes (right). You can definitely see a difference. The more times applied, the more fuller the lashes become. Definitely recommended.

The Beyond Acai berry bar was nice. Not something I’d usually try but it was very rich and chewy. I did however only have half. (My daughters claimed the rest!) a nice organic snack.

I liked the Illuminum perfume samples. They were presented in little perfume vials, inside black card books which fitted neatly into a cute black box. Very well presented. I can honestly say I have never heard of Illuminum perfume before. (I tend to opt for the perfumes I’ve heard of from TV ads, magazines etc). I love the smell of the Ginger Pear fragrance. It was very fruity with a slight spicy note. Very similar to perfume I wore when I was a teenager. The White Datura would suit anyone who likes a Musk scent for an occasion. Skin Petals is a very floral and girly scent, nice for the Summer or days out. My least favourite was the White Gardenia Petals, it had a strong chemical smell similar to acetone in my opinion. Not really for me.

I’m not a huge fan of green tea, but I gave them a go. The Moroccan mint was lovely and fresh. Great for waking up to. The Gunpowder Supreme was tasty too, but a little spicy. It gave it a kick. They were both a nice change to my usual morning coffee and very enjoyable. I’m quite looking forward to having my second cups.

The Sparitual nail polish, is probably the only company I had heard of before from the box. The nail Polish is very nice on, glides on smoothly and dries fairly quickly too. So far no chips, which is a bonus. The colour I received was a lovely rich red. I will definitely buy more of these as I love the results. My usual nail polish lasts a couple of days with no chips, but this has been on almost a week now and still looks good.

My least favourite product in the box was the Dermasalve cream. I used this after a shower and didn’t really notice much difference in my skin. The cream itself was quite curdled looking with some water coming out too. I gave it a good shake and it made no difference. I definitely didn’t find the smell appealing either. It has on the tube that there are no perfumes, alcohol, etc. It had a very strong chemical smell which made me feel slightly sick to the point I washed it all off. Not one I will buy. Like all reviews however, everyone is different and although this wasn’t for me, it may suit someone else out there.

Conclusion: The box was well put together and looked the part. I loved the selection of luxury products ranging from tea, to puddings, snacks and beauty. Most of the products in it were fab, but not from companies I had heard of before. I think the Box Delux is a great way of getting smaller companies and their luxury products out out there to be recognised. I also love that if you’re happy with your box you can buy on their online store and claim a £20 gift voucher. I will definitely be looking into purchasing the rice pudding and brush on false lashes again. The products were all lovely, good quality and the box in my opinion is good value for money at £15 a month £3.95 p&p. Definitely worth trying!
