BiteToSavourIt’s just possible that bitetosavour.com has created a subscription box addict/chocolate lover’s favourite box!

The Chocolate of the Month box is exactly what any sweet-toothed subscriber is hoping for – a box of chocs delivered to your door monthly. Heaven!

I will say that this subscription is letterbox friendly! I hate it when I wait a month for a box and then have to wait another couple of days before I can get to the post office to collect it.

This one, however, popped straight through, so I didn’t have to worry about having to go and collect it and could get my chocolate fix!

But what makes this selection special is the time and effort that has gone into selecting the treats that will be coming through your door. The folks at bitetosavour.com have an enviable job of taste testing delicious products made by artisan chocolate makers from around the world, before deciding if they are worthy of making it into one of their monthly boxes.

20150314_122414My selection came from NearyNogs, a chocolate and fudge company based in Northern Ireland. Inside it’s packed neatly with leaflets on both bitetosavour.com and the company whose chocs you are sampling.

I was treated to a selection of four flavours. In milk chocolate there was Chilli and Raw Cacao Sanctuary and Sea Salt and Chocolate Sanctuary and in white chocolate there was Cranberry and Orange Sanctuary and Lemon and Green Tea Sanctuary.

20150314_122553Each came in the form of two thin 3 x 4inch slabs – a nice treat but not overly indulgent – and were individually wrapped and labelled with ingredients. They were all gluten free too.

By far the family’s favourite was the chilli and raw cacao, with its smooth chocolate taste and a subtle bite of chilli.  Coming in second was the sea salt flavour, again a nice milk chocolate with a bitter hint of salt, making it very morrish. Sadly the white chocolate flavours didn’t go down well…

The cranberry and orange seemed to just have a few cranberries and orange zest sprinkled on top, although it did have a nice zesty flavour, whilst the lemon and green tea option was rather chemically. We also found them both overly sweet.

As a family of foodies and chocolate fans, we loved being able to sample something that would probably have otherwise gone undiscovered to us and enjoyed gathering round for a taste test.

There are always going to be products you like and dislike in whatever type of box you receive, but, as a concept, this box is a delight.

This subscription allows you to discover new producers, products and flavours you may not know about or have been reluctant to try in the past. There’s every possibility you’ll fall in love with them – all without lifting a finger!

You never know, next months delights might have us fighting over who gets the last crumb at the bottom of the box :)
